This kid melts me

Poor Max...today was the last day of flag football. He has loved this game with all his heart. After the game today his coach was giving out certificates and saying a few words about each player. Max was one of the last ones...I was watching him and could tell he was getting emoitional...I thought maybe he was worried that they had forgotten him. when his coach got to him and was talking about his many touchdowns I could see the tears start to come. they gave him his certificate and he just lost it as he came over to me. I couldn't figure out what was wrong.

I asked him what was wrong and he said he was sad that it was over! Poor guy...it broke my heart! I have never seen him get like that ecept when his feelings are hurt or something..he was just so sad! His coach had a little talk with him

Img_6016

and he is feeling better now. His coach was a really great coach...super encouraging and made each of them feel special...I think he is a big part of the reason Max loved this so much. He is definitley looking forward to next year. His coach mentioned too that Max was the youngest on the team by a lot...sometimes I forget just how young he is. As fast as it all goes it is nice to be reminded of that!

They both won their last games today and of course played their hearts out:

Yesterday

We had the most gorgeous fall weather here yesterday...warm, but not too warm and windy, blowing the leaves off the trees...so gorgeous. So Ally and I spent some time outside while the boys were at school. She had a fun romp in the leaves

And, I'll tell ya, there's some serious hair growing going on here

Today is Brandon's last cross country meet and Saturday is the last day of football and then things should die down for a few weeks which will be nice. Right now I feel like we are always on the go. Looking forward to just hanging out at home!

She's Got Mail

So I discovered yet another way in which Ally is just like her Mama...a love for catalogs! She came with me to get the mail today and two that were very much to her liking: An American Girl catalog and a Fisher Price catalog

Img_5760_crop

She was VERY interested in the Fisher Price catalog and, just like her Mama would, looked it over and over

Runners

This was the last Cross Country meet at SMS this season...just one more next week at EKES. Since we've had a couple of frost I guess the EEE threat is about gone so they let the kids run on the real course which is mostly in the woods. They were super excited about this. I've said it before and I'll say it agian...it is so amazing to see all of these kids run...with all of their heart.

Img_5270

We didn't get to see as much of the race as usual because it was in the woods but we got to see the end which is always exciting. Brandon and this kid were neck and neck with each other til the end

Img_5277

I heard someone say that someone lost their shoe and then realized it was Brandon...and them realized I got a shot of it as it happened

A couple shots of Billy... I know it blurry but have to share this one because he looks so grown up here

And I love Miss Meaghan's face in this one

The race started late because a couple of teams had bus problems. Some shots while we waited...

Corn Maze

Yesterday was such a gorgeous fall day here that we decided to take the kids to theCorn Maze in Lee. We went last year and the kids had a blast. this year was so much better for me because i did not have to deal with pushing a stroller through the maze! Ally was either on Al's shoulders or she actually walked for much of it. Last year it was in the shape of a turkey...this year it was a Coyote howling ast the moon. There are 10 mailboxes throught the maze with questions about coyotes...the right anwer leads you in the right direction. Not knowing much about coyotes, we did get lost a few times!

Columbus Day

While out shopping for Halloween costumes Max on Monday, Max asked if he could get this puzzle of the America. Seeing how it was Columbus day and all I thought it was pretty fitting! He was so proud to be able to do this all by himself!

Img_4636

And yes, mu kitchen table is a mess...its always a mess. Actually it is pretty good that it was cleaned off enough to do a whole puzzle on!

And a cute one of Ally from that day:

Role Reversal

Amber asked me to babysit for her!!! This is too weird for us. She has always babysat for me, ever since Brandon was 2. And now I get to repay the favor. Not that it was hard..Armani is the easiest baby. of course Amber was gone for all of five minutes before I took the camera out! There wasn't much light so this is all I got:

And Ally was totally fascinated with her

Img_4760

She had to point to (and poke a couple of times)and name all of her body parts. She got a little jealous when I was feeding...climbed p in my lap too and was not happy that Armani was in her spot. But other than that she loved having her there. hope I get to do it again soon! She is getting so big already!

Peace out....

So I bribed then with Pokemon cards to do a little photo shoot in the backyard yesterday. I may have stated something becuase now they want to do another one...I guess I need to keep some packs on hand for when I really want them to do something! I wanted to try out the new, old chair I got this weekend. I have been looking for a red one but I found this green one at The Collectors Eye. I think I like it! Here are some shots:
